Why Lemon Tree?
The lemon tree symbolizes resilience — the ability to bear fruit even after the storm.
That’s the foundation of my practice: helping you rediscover your strength, heal from hardship, and grow in new directions.
My name is Mercedes Cuevas, MA, LMHC. I enjoy working with people who are done feeling stuck in the same old patterns that leaves them feeling used, hurt, and negative towards themselves. Change of any kind is hard and making meaningful changes feel impossible and lonely.
This cycle often shows up in people's life as
-
being unable to kick a habit or unhealthy coping, resulting in anxiety and stress
-
difficulty connecting with others and forming relationships
-
self-sabotaging, self-harm or suicidality
-
poor self-esteem and self-worth
-
feeling unsatisfied with family life and partnerships.
How I can Help: Healing looks different for everyone. I integrate several therapy models to create a supportive, holistic, and flexible experience.
I can offer a safe place to identify re-occurring patterns while feeling validated and capable of change with new skills and resources. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals and families across all stages of life.
I’m trained in
-
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
-
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and general CBT
-

And draw from techniques in
-
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
-
Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT)
-
Play Therapy, Art Therapy
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Everyone is Welcome Here.
My passion lies in truly connecting with you, building trust, and identifying the interventions and modalities that resonate most deeply. Once a foundation of stability is established through better coping skills and evidence-based techniques, we’ll equip you with practical tools to manage emotions, cultivate greater peacefulness in your life, and transform unhelpful patterns. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns, people of all ethnicities, gender-identities, sexual-orientation, nationality, and abilities are welcome.
I’m currently in the process of getting paneled with insurance providers, so for now am contracted with United Health Care, Premera, or self-pay only. I offer both in-person and virtual therapy sessions for healing and emotional growth, and coaching sessions for folks wanting to build confidence in parenting skills, social skills, or adaptive living skills with ADHD related issues. I also offer a sliding scale to help make care more accessible—just reach out and we can talk through what works best for you.
